Ingredients

For the Appetizer
  • 1 package Boursin Cheese Garlic & Fine Herbs, 5.2 oz (150g)
  • 1/4 cup Pistachios shelled, unsalted, roughly chopped
  • 1 tbsp Honey or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Olive Oil for greasing
  • 1 sprig Fresh Thyme or Rosemary optional, for garnish
For Serving
  • 1 small Baguette sliced and lightly toasted, or your favorite crackers/bread
  • 1/2 Apple sliced, optional

Equipment

  • Small Oven-Safe Baking Dish
  • Cutting Board
  • Sharp Knife
  • Measuring Spoons

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a small oven-safe baking dish (just large enough to comfortably fit the Boursin cheese) with 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil.
  2. Unwrap the Boursin cheese and place it in the center of the prepared baking dish. If desired, you can gently flatten it slightly to cover more surface area of the dish.
  3. Roughly chop the shelled pistachios. You can do this with a knife or by pulsing them a few times in a small food processor. Set aside.
Bake and Finish
  1. Bake the Boursin cheese in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until it is warmed through and visibly softened. It should be slightly melty and gooey, but not completely liquified.
  2. Carefully remove the baking dish from the oven. Sprinkle the chopped pistachios evenly over the warm Boursin cheese.
  3. Drizzle the honey generously over the cheese and pistachios. If using, add a small sprig of fresh thyme or rosemary for garnish.
  4. Serve immediately directly from the baking dish with toasted baguette slices, crackers, or apple slices for dipping.

Notes

For an extra touch, you can lightly toast the chopped pistachios in a dry pan for 2-3 minutes before sprinkling them on for a deeper flavor. This appetizer is best enjoyed warm. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, but the cheese will firm up again when cold.
