- Wash and hull the strawberries, then slice them into halves or quarters.
Cooking
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.

- Once the mixture begins to bubble, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and let the compote cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
