Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar For the topping.
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder Helps the cobbler rise.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.
  • 1 cup milk Dairy or plant-based milk can be used.
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted Can use margarine or coconut oil as a substitute.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Rinse the strawberries, hull them, and slice them in half. In a bowl, toss them with a bit of sugar and set aside to macerate.
Batter Making

  2. Pour in the milk and melted butter, and stir until just combined. Don't overmix; a few lumps are fine.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish. Distribute the macerated strawberries over the top, allowing some juice to pour in.
  2. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Cooling
  1. Let the cobbler cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, serve the cobbler warm with ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
