Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Rinse the strawberries, hull them, and slice them in half. In a bowl, toss them with a bit of sugar and set aside to macerate.
Batter Making
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Pour in the milk and melted butter, and stir until just combined. Don't overmix; a few lumps are fine.
Baking
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish. Distribute the macerated strawberries over the top, allowing some juice to pour in.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Cooling
- Let the cobbler cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, serve the cobbler warm with ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
