Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the strawberry cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and buttermilk. Stir until just combined.
- Gently fold in the diced fresh strawberries.
- Transfer the batter into a piping bag or a zip-lock bag and pipe it into a greased donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
Baking
- Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar or make a simple glaze by mixing powdered sugar with a little milk until smooth.
Notes
Store leftover donuts in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To freeze, place in a single layer on a baking sheet then transfer to a freezer bag for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds before serving.
