Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In another bowl, melt the butter until gooey, let it cool slightly, then whisk in the brown sugar and granulated sugar.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture, whisking until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and half of the red and blue sprinkles.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top; sprinkle the remaining sprinkles on top.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
- Allow the bars to cool in the pan for a bit, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For best results, do not overmix the batter. If desired, refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes before baking for extra chewiness. Warm bars in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds before serving for that gooey texture.
