Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add in the sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Beat in the egg until the mixture is creamy and everything is well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing!
- Gently stir in chopped Oreo cookies, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
- Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers will look soft but will firm up as they cool.
Cooling
- Let them sit on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother mixture. Chill the dough if too sticky. Slightly underbaked cookies will stay soft and chewy. You can add chocolate chips or white chocolate chunks for extra flavor.
