Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure a perfectly crispy crust.
- Roll out your pizza dough into a rectangle on a floured surface, aiming for about ¼ inch thickness.
- Spread out your chosen meats evenly over the dough, leaving about an inch border all around.
- Sprinkle the cheese on top, followed by your veggies.
- Sprinkle Italian seasoning or herbs over the filling.
- Starting from one long edge, roll the dough up tightly into a log, tucking in the sides as you go.
- Pinch the seams to seal the stromboli tightly and place it seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Beat an egg and brush it over the top of the stromboli.
- Make a few diagonal slits on top with a sharp knife to allow steam to escape.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serve warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven for best texture. You can experiment with different cheeses and spices.
