  • 1 cup Cheese (mozzarella, provolone, or cheddar) Mix cheeses for extra flavor.
  • 1 cup Bell peppers, onions, or spinach Use any fresh veggies you have.
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning or herbs Oregano and basil are great choices.
  • 1 large Egg For brushing on top.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure a perfectly crispy crust.
  2. Roll out your pizza dough into a rectangle on a floured surface, aiming for about ¼ inch thickness.
  3. Spread out your chosen meats evenly over the dough, leaving about an inch border all around.
  4. Sprinkle the cheese on top, followed by your veggies.
  5. Sprinkle Italian seasoning or herbs over the filling.
  6. Starting from one long edge, roll the dough up tightly into a log, tucking in the sides as you go.
  7. Pinch the seams to seal the stromboli tightly and place it seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Beat an egg and brush it over the top of the stromboli.
  9. Make a few diagonal slits on top with a sharp knife to allow steam to escape.
  10. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  11. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven for best texture. You can experiment with different cheeses and spices.
