Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the nectarines in half, remove the pits, and chop into bite-sized pieces. Toss in a bowl with sugar and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter and milk until combined. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Assembly and Baking
- In a baking dish (about 8x8 inches), layer the nectarine mixture at the bottom.
- Spoon the batter over the fruit, covering it completely.
- Bake in the oven for about 35-40 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream. You can store leftovers in the fridge for 3–4 days.
