Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, toss sliced peaches with 1/2 cup sugar and lemon juice. Set aside.
- In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, and baking powder. Stir in the milk to form a smooth batter.
- Pour melted butter into the bottom of the baking dish. Do not stir.
- Pour the batter over the butter. Again, do not stir.
- Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Serve warm.
Notes
For a twist, sprinkle a bit of cinnamon or nutmeg over the peaches before baking. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
