Ingredients

Casserole
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 potatoes thinly sliced
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup 10.5 oz
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Baking Dish

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the onions and half of the cooked beef.
  5. Repeat the layers with remaining potatoes, onions, and beef.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup with milk and pour evenly over the casserole.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle shredded cheese on top, and bake for another 10 minutes until melted and bubbly.

Notes

You can add vegetables like carrots, corn, or green beans to make the casserole heartier. Ground turkey can also replace ground beef.
