  • 3 cups All-purpose Flour Gluten-free flour can be used as an alternative
  • 2 large Eggs Use flax eggs for a vegan version
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder A leavening agent for light and fluffy texture
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Pure vanilla provides the best flavor
  • As needed Food Coloring Gel colors recommended for vibrant hues
  • As desired Decorations Sprinkles, chocolate chips, or pastel candies for embellishment

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  5. If coloring your dough, mix in the food coloring now.
  6. Scoop the dough onto a lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for around 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow the treats to cool on a wire rack before icing and decorating.

Notes

Don't overmix the dough. Refrigerate if sticky. Use parchment paper for easy cleanup. Feel free to customize flavors and decorations!
