For the Whipped Feta
  • 8 oz Feta Cheese block, preferably packed in brine, crumbled
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese full-fat, softened to room temperature
  • 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil plus more for serving
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 small clove Garlic minced (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper freshly ground, or to taste
For the Drizzle & Garnish
  • 2 tbsp Honey or to taste
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley or Mint finely chopped (optional)
For Serving
  • 1 package Pita Bread or Crackers toasted or warmed
  • 1 Cucumber sliced, or other fresh vegetables

Equipment

  • Food Processor
  • Serving Bowl or Dish

Method

Prepare the Whipped Feta
  1. Combine the crumbled feta cheese, softened cream cheese, extra virgin olive oil, fresh lemon juice, minced garlic (if using), and freshly ground black pepper in the bowl of a food processor.
  2. Process on high speed for 2-3 minutes, or until the mixture is completely smooth, creamy, and airy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to ensure all ingredients are incorporated.
Assemble and Serve
  1. Transfer the whipped feta mixture to a shallow serving bowl or dish, spreading it evenly. You can create a slight swirl with the back of a spoon for a rustic look.
  2. Generously drizzle the honey over the whipped feta. If desired, lightly sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley or mint for added freshness and color.
  3. Serve immediately with toasted pita bread, crackers, cucumber slices, bell pepper strips, or your favorite crudités.

Notes

For best results, ensure your cream cheese is at room temperature for a smoother whip. If the feta is particularly salty, you can soak it in cold water for 15-20 minutes before using. For a slightly different flavor profile, try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the whipped feta or a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds on top. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, though the texture might firm up slightly.
