  • 2 cups elbow macaroni uncooked
  • 2 cups milk whole milk preferred
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese sharp or mild
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add milk, heavy cream, and macaroni. Stir to combine.
  3. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes or until pasta is tender.
  4. Reduce heat to low. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper. Serve hot straight from the skillet.

Notes

For extra cheesiness, add a mix of mozzarella or Monterey Jack. You can also top with breadcrumbs and broil for a golden crust.
