Preparation
- Trim excess fat from the ribs, rinse and pat them dry, and remove the membrane from the back.
- Generously sprinkle salt, pepper, and paprika on both sides of the ribs, rubbing it in.
Sautéing
- In a pan over medium heat, add a splash of oil and sauté chopped onions until soft.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
Combining
- Pour BBQ sauce into the pan with sautéed onions and garlic, stirring well to combine.
- Place seasoned ribs in the bottom of the crockpot and pour BBQ sauce mixture over them.
Cooking
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- For added caramelization, broil ribs for a few minutes with extra BBQ sauce after cooking.
Notes
Allow meat to reach an internal temperature of 190°F for optimal tenderness. Store leftovers for up to 3-4 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 3 months. Add BBQ sauce while reheating to retain moisture.
