Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened Make sure the butter is softened but not melted.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add-ins
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Can substitute with peanut butter chips or white chocolate chips.

Method
 

Baking Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
Mixing Ingredients
  1. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract and milk.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  2. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Server warm or at room temperature, pairs well with milk or coffee. For extra flavor, add a spread of butter or cream cheese. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Do not overmix the batter to maintain moisture.
