Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
Baking
- Spoon the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then lift them out using the parchment overhang.
- Let them cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
For fudgy centers, take them out slightly underbaked. Chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking can enhance flavors.
