Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 Bananas Bananas (frozen or fresh) Frozen bananas give the smoothie a lovely creaminess.
  • 2 tablespoons Cocoa Powder Unsweetened cocoa powder is used for that rich chocolate flavor.
  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt Adds creaminess and a protein boost. Use coconut or almond yogurt for a dairy-free version.
  • 1 cup Milk Any type of milk works—dairy, almond, or oat milk.
  • 1-2 tablespoons Honey or Maple Syrup Use honey for sweetness or maple syrup as a vegan substitute.
  • 1 cup Ice For a thicker texture, especially if using fresh bananas.

Method

Preparation
  1. Peel the bananas and break them into chunks. If using frozen bananas, toss them in straight from the freezer.
  2. Add the bananas to a blender along with the cocoa powder, Greek yogurt, milk, and honey or maple syrup.
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy. If it’s too thick, add a splash more milk and blend again.
  4. Once you achieve your desired consistency, taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  5. Pour the smoothie into glasses and serve immediately.

Notes

For an extra twist, swirl in nut butter or sprinkle on chocolate chips. If making for kids, serve with a fun straw or top with whipped cream.
