Black Pepper Chicken

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb chicken breast cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce light
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch for coating
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
Sauce
  • 2 tbsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce dark
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with light soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Stir-fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same wok, add garlic, onion, and bell peppers. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  4. Return the chicken to the wok. Add black pepper, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and chicken broth. Stir well.
  5. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Drizzle with sesame oil before serving.

Notes

For extra heat, add a pinch of red chili flakes.
