Method
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the trimmed asparagus spears with olive oil, garlic powder, black pepper, and sea salt (if using). Ensure spears are evenly coated.
- Take small bundles of 2-3 asparagus spears and wrap a slice of beef bacon tightly around the middle, securing the bundle. If bacon slices are long, you can wrap them diagonally.
- Arrange the bacon-wrapped asparagus bundles in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring not to overcrowd. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes, then flip the bundles. Continue to air fry for another 10-13 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the asparagus is tender-crisp. Total cooking time will be approximately 20-25 minutes, depending on your air fryer and desired crispiness.
- Carefully remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.
Notes
For a conventional oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place bundles on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until bacon is crispy and asparagus is tender. If using thicker-cut beef bacon, you may need to cook slightly longer to achieve desired crispiness. This dish is best served fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in an air fryer or oven for best results.
