Ingredients
  

Bread Batter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups apple peeled and chopped (about 2 medium apples)
Crumble Topping
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter cold and cubed

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugars, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla. Mix until combined.
  4. Fold in chopped apples. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the crumble topping. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over the batter.
  6. Bake for 50–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool before slicing.

Notes

For extra crunch, add chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter or topping. This bread also freezes well!
