Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted and cooled
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups apples peeled and diced (about 2 medium apples)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, beat together melted butter, sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Gently stir in the diced apples.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 55–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle a cinnamon-sugar mixture on top before baking, or fold in 1/2 cup of chopped nuts.
