Prepare the Salmon
- Pat the salmon fillets thoroughly dry with paper towels. This helps ensure a crispier exterior.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, dried dill, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Place the salmon fillets on a clean plate or cutting board. Brush or rub the lemon-herb mixture evenly over all sides of the salmon.
Air Fry the Salmon
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes. This step is optional but helps with even cooking and crisping.
- Carefully place the seasoned salmon fillets, skin-side down if applicable, into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Ensure there's space between the fillets for proper air circulation; cook in batches if necessary.
- Air fry for 8-12 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets and your desired doneness. For 1-inch thick fillets, start checking at 8 minutes.
- The salmon is cooked when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) at its thickest part.
Serve
- Carefully remove the salmon from the air fryer basket using tongs or a spatula. Let it rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges, if desired. Pairs wonderfully with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.
Notes
For thicker fillets (over 1 inch), you might need an additional 2-4 minutes of cooking time. Always check the internal temperature for doneness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if you have more than two fillets or a smaller air fryer.
